Three men and a baby
It started with three men and a baby. A really small boy. And with him came the need for very small clothing. Even though approximately one half of the babies in the world are boys, it seems all the baby clothes are made for girls by girls.
This is why Ugly™ Children’s Clothing was born some months after little Jesper. The first Ugly™ collection was launched autumn 2006 sporting a range of baby bodies for boys and girls with balls. Elegantly wrapped in our exclusive Ugly™ Body Bags™.
Then along came another baby boy. And with little Pelle came the need for even more very small clothing. 4 years down the line, more Ugly™ children have seen daylight for the first time, happily unaware that there is no need to worry about dressing sharp as a razors edge no more.Since the start in 2006 Ugly™ has grown to be a renowned childrens brand and has won several national awards for their designs and innovative childrens clothing.
Behind every piece of clothing produced by Ugly there is something special, a story to be told . Ugly™ deliver designer clothing for Ugly™ children anywhere and has made several fantastic ranges of baby clothes, amongst them The Norwegian Lice collection and the Ugly MILK collection. All Norwegians are born with ski on their feet. Everybody knows that. And the ski-loving Norwegians have always wanted to enjoy the great white winter landscapes gliding along in their traditional knitted sweaters.
The people behind Norwegian Lice is no exception. But when they wanted to take their small babies out skiing, they found that there were no Norwegian knitted babybodies for them to wear. So to make sure that even the small¬est babies could join in on the fun, they decided to make the Norwegian Lice Sweater Collection, inspired by traditional Norwegian knitting pat¬terns. The Lice collection has been a formidable succes, not only in Scandinavia but all over Europe, and rumours has it that the Ugly™ knitters are already hard at work with new exiting garments for next winters season.
Babies need MILK! This is common knowledge, and beeing men lacking the possibilities of parttaking in natures own ways, team Ugly™ decided to give babies all over the world MILK in their own special way. Hence the launch of their MILK collection in December 2009. The designs are all inspired by the wonderful patterns from the Norwegian milk cartons back in the 60´s and 70´s, and each little piece of clothing comes with its very own giftbox shaped as a MILK carton. In May 2009 the MILK collection expands to feature pyjamas, and for the first time Ugly™ takes the step up and launch the new products in sizes up to 6 years.
Look out for more Ugly™ news in the time to come as Ugly Childrens Clothing has become a design company worth looking out for.
